Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)
Radiofrequency Ablation, or “burning” of the nerves, is a treatment which reduces pain signals to the brain. An ablation is performed by inserting a needle through the skin near the painful area, and heat generating radio waves turn off the nerve’s ability to send pain signals. This treatment can be used for neck and back pain, as well as painful joints.
