Biography
Joe Quigg, BPE, MD, CCFP(EM), FCFP, Dip. Sport Med.
Dr. Joe Quigg graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelors of Physical Education (BPE) and from Western University with a Medical degree (MD). He went on to qualify for the Certificate of the College of Family Physicians with Special Competence in Emergency Medicine (CCFP(EM)). Dr. Quigg earned the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine Diploma of Sport Medicine (Dip. Sport Med.) and a Fellowship in the College of Family Physicians of Canada (FCFP). This Fellowship designation is awarded to Physicians who distinguish themselves through outstanding contribution to their communities, their colleagues, and the discipline of family medicine.
Over the years Dr. Quigg has practiced Emergency Medicine, Sport and Exercise Medicine and currently has a focused practice in both Interventional Chronic Pain, and Sport and Exercise Medicine at KOPI, Kingston Orthopaedic Pain Institute. Dr. Quigg performs precise image guided injections to help diagnose and treat ongoing joint, tendon, ligament, muscle, spine and nerve pain. Dr. Quigg utilizes x-ray and ultrasound to help guide these precise injections.
Additionally, Dr Quigg enjoys teaching interventional procedures, and continues to teach medical residents in Family Medicine, Anaesthesia, Physiatry, Orthopaedics and Emergency Medicine.
In his spare time, he provides medical coverage at national and international level sport events as the Canadian National Team Physician for Water Ski and Wakeboard Canada.
Dr Quigg’s ultimate passion is spending time and being active with his loving wife and two children.
